Service Description

Without minimizing violence of any kind, I believe that while other forms of violence are deeply hurtful and damaging, there often are witnesses and external signs of the abuse. Instances of sexual harm very often take place in the dark, with no witnesses and no visible signs. Any evidence can only be gathered invasively and with further re-traumatization. Sexual harm involves the experience of disempowerment and the loss of one's ability to consent about what happens to and with their body. There is immense healing in the validation of YOUR experience and in working gently and safely through the impact of sexual harm whether it dates back to when you were younger, or if you experienced sexual harm as an older person. I bring my experience as a Sexual Harm counsellor with community support organizations and my training in trauma-focused therapy into this space. You do not have to recount your story in order to begin your journey to healing. I do my best to create a space where you grow your agency to pace yourself based on your capacity and to make decisions in your best interest. I offer a 30 minute consult so we can meet and gauge our suitability for each other.
